Stephen Fry is an English actor, comedian, and writer who has made a name for himself in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Born in Hampstead, London in 1957, Fry was raised in Norfolk and educated at several prestigious schools, including St. Albans School and the University of Cambridge. It was at Cambridge that he first found success as a performer, joining the famous Footlights comedy troupe and meeting fellow comedian Hugh Laurie, with whom he would later go on to collaborate on several projects.

After leaving university, Fry began his professional career as a writer and actor, working on various TV shows and films in the 1980s and 1990s. He is perhaps best known for his work on the sketch comedy series "A Bit of Fry & Laurie" and his role as the narrator on the popular British nature documentary series "Planet Earth." In addition to his work in television and film, Fry has also had a successful career as a stage actor, appearing in numerous productions in the West End and on Broadway.

In addition to his acting and writing, Fry is also an avid reader and a vocal advocate for mental health awareness. He has written several books on a variety of topics, including memoirs, novels, and works of non-fiction. Fry has also used his platform to speak out about his own struggles with mental health, and has become a leading voice in the movement to destigmatize mental illness.

Despite his many accomplishments, Fry remains a humble and down-to-earth individual, and continues to be a beloved figure in the entertainment industry.
