And to celebrate we have a great competition for you and 3 copies on DVD to give away.

Synopsis
Dr. Martin Ellingham (Clunes - Men Behaving Badly, Warren), is back for eight new episodes of the ratings winning drama as the sole GP of a sleepy town. With a brusque bedside manner and a phobia of blood, he continues to treat and challenge the community of the idyllic hamlet of Portwenn in Cornwall.

But with her career change and Martin under review from the General Medical Council following complaints from his patients, is now the right time?

Returning cast include Dame Eileen Atkins (The Crown, Robin Hood) as Doc Martin’s formidable Aunt Ruth, Ian McNeice (Rome, Dune) as Bert Large, with Joe Absolom (Eastenders, Vincent) as his son Al, Jessica Ransom (Horrible Histories, The Armstrong and Miller Show) plays receptionist Morwenna Newcross, Caroline Quentin (Jonathan Creek, Dickensian) as vet Angela Sim and Selina Cadell (The Lady in the Van, Wild Child) as pharmacist Mrs Tishell.

They are joined by a roster of special guest stars: Danny Huston (Wonder Woman, Stan & Ollie) plays Robert Brooke, a man who is shot by a farmer who thinks he is stealing eggs, Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones, Dublin Murders) plays a GP who is sent to assess Martin and Tom Conti (Paddington 2, Four Seasons) plays an eminent surgeon.

Competition: Win Dublin Murders on DVD

Dublin Murders is out on DVD on November 18th

And to celebrate we have a great competition for you and 3 copies on DVD to give away.

Synopsis
Adapted from leading crime novelist Tana French’s internationally bestselling books, Dublin Murders is a darkly enthralling new drama, set to grip audiences when it airs on BBC One and arrives on DVD and digital this winter from Acorn Media International.

Screenwriter extraordinaire Sarah Phelps (The ABC Murders, Great Expectations), brilliantly blends the first two novels in the Dublin Murder Squad series – In The Woods and The Likeness – to deliver an engrossing eight-part series full of psychological mystery and darkness, with its roots sunk deep in Ireland’s past.

Starring a stellar line up of acting talent including Killian Scott (Strike, Ripper Street), Sarah Greene  (Penny Dreadful, Rebellion), Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Avengers: Endgame, Peaky Blinders) Moe Dunford (Vikings, Patrick’s Day) and Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones, Suits), Dublin Murders will be available as a two-disc DVD on 11 November 2019 as well as being available to buy on digital.

Summer 2006, at the height of the Celtic Tiger financial boom…two driven detectives Rob Reilly (Scott) and Cassie Maddox (Greene), are called in to investigate a child’s murder in Knocknaree, Dublin, but there’s more to this disturbing case than meets the eye.

On an altar in the middle of an archaeological site lies the body of a local teenage girl, a talented young ballet dancer, Katy Devlin, 13.

Knocknaree is an area blighted by poverty and unemployment for generations. The historical site is under threat from developers looking to build a new motorway. This is the not the first loss to blight the community…21 years earlier, in a very different Ireland, three children went missing. Only one came back alive and the crime was never solved…could this horrendous new crime be connected?

The Dublin Murders devastated a community and as the investigation deepens, old wounds that never properly healed are about to be ripped open.

Competition: Win Der Pass - Season 1 on DVD

Der Pass - Season 1 is out on DVD on September 23rd

And to celebrate we have a great competition for you and 3 copies on DVD to give away.

Synopsis
From the award-winning makers of hit drama The Dark comes a thrilling new German-Austrian spin that takes the initial premise to the brand-new gripping heights of Der Pass.

This Sky Original garnered exceptional viewing figures when it premiered in Germany, earning critical acclaim and now it’s set to take the UK by storm.

When a gruesomely staged, dead body is found in a mountain pass in the Alps near the German-Austrian border, two detectives from either side are brought in to investigate.

Not only are they from two different countries, they are worlds apart in their careers…German detective Ellie (Julia Jentsch) embraces the case as the first real challenge of her profession, while her Austrian counterpart Gedeon (Nicholas Ofczarek) is jaded and seems to have lost any ambition.

They soon discover more crime scenes with symbolically posed victims, which appear reminiscent of pagan rituals. Are they all part of a much bigger, sinister plan?

Ellie puts herself under increasing pressure to try and understand the deranged murderer’s motives so she can stop them killing again, and as the hunt goes on the detectives are drawn deeper into the dark valleys and archaic Alpine customs – and the paranoid world of the killer.

Set against a majestic backdrop, the eight-part series is produced by the Academy Award-winning Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg (The Lives of Others) and won the award for Best TV series at Austria’s ROMY TV Awards.

Make the darkly enthralling Der Pass your new favourite ritual.

It happened in Tiananmen Square l Featured Documentary

In 1989, hundreds of thousands of people flooded onto the streets of Beijing and into Tiananmen Square demanding democracy, freedom of speech and an end to corruption.

After a seven week standoff, the government called in the troops and a bloody battle ensued.

The number of deaths is not known. The Chinese Red Cross initially issued a statement saying that 2,600 people had been killed but rapidly retracted that. The Chinese government claimed that 241 people died, including 23 soldiers.

Twenty years on, Al Jazeera speaks to some of those who took part in the world's largest and most influential pro-democracy movement.

Through their personal stories and the stories of others who witnessed this historic movement, It happened in Tiananmen Square recreates an era when a new generation of Chinese wanted to finally break from the shackles of Mao's Cultural Revolution.

It happened in Tiananmen Square aired from Sunday, May 31, 2009.

New York City in 1993 in HD - DTheater DVHS Demo Tape

In 2002 D-Theater launched in the US - the dealers needed a demo tape of HD footage. JVC reused some HD video that had been shot as a demo for the Japanese HD market back in 1993.

This footage would have most likely been originally used for a HiVision MUSE demo (an HD Broadcast, Tape &  Laserdisc format).

You can determine that the year is 1993 by the adverts in Times Square - The Radio 501 CD that's advertised on a billboard came out in 1993 and Paper Moon is playing at the Marquis Theater.

For those wondering what HD video camera tech existed in 1993 -  there are a few options, but it's likely that this footage was shot with a HDVS camera- perhaps a Sony SONY HDC-500 attached to a HDV-10 portable recorder which recorded on UniHi 3/4" tape.
